Public Transportation Guide

Koto City, where various railway routes, such as JR and subways, run, has excellent access to transportation; it is located within a 30-minute commuting distance from such main terminals as Tokyo Station, major sightseeing spots in Tokyo including Asakusa, Imperial Palace and Tokyo Sky Tree® and even Tokyo Disney Resort (which is located in Chiba) by public transportation. It is a suitable area to visit as a part of a Tokyo sightseeing tour or for weekend excursions.

Access from Airports

Since many Toei Bus routes run throughout Koto City, it is very convenient to use Toei Bus to go to and enjoy sightseeing points that are far from JR stations, such as Sunamachi Ginza Shotengai and Tokyo Gate Bridge. Also, Tokyo Skytree®, which attracts many visitors, is connected with various places in the city such as Kameido, Monzen-nakacho, Kiba and Toyosu; it is highly accessible and you can enjoy these places before or after visiting the tower.

水上バス

Two companies operate regular water-bus services, focusing on Sumidagawa River, which runs on the west side of the city, along with canals, provide you access via boat to/from the city (such as Etchujima and Toyosu) from/to Odaiba and Asakusa.
In Koto City, boarding points that are managed by the city have been opened to water-bus operation companies for their use from June 2013, and through these steps, momentum is gathering so that sightseeing and access by boats will be further diversified in the future.
